@ Southern Red Velvet

A coworker of mine introduced me to this awesome recipe. It is definitely a keeper. I didn't take the final shots of my fondant decorated red velvet but this picture will do for now until I make another batch.

@ Artisan Bread

So I found this great and easy artisan bread recipe.  Thought it should be in the family recipe book in case anyone else want to tackle this.

@ Korean Taco

Lynn had these korean style taco made with yummy sauce.  We are gonna need the recipe for this.  It was a hit at Chris's Birthday Party!

APA-ROMAINE SLAW


Makes about 6 cups, enough for many tacos, with leftovers 

For the dressing: 
• 1 tablespoon soy sauce 
• 1-1/2 teaspoons lime juice 
• 1-1/2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil 
• 1/4 teaspoon sugar 

For the salad: 
• 4 cups (5 ounces) shredded romaine lettuce 
• 2 cups (3 ounces) shredded Napa cabbage 
• 1/2 cup (2 ounces) thinly sliced onion 
• toasted sesame seeds for garnish
Toss the salad in a large bowl with 1 tablespoon of the dressing. Add more dressing to taste and garnish generously with sesame seeds.

@ Steamed pork ribs with black bean sauce

@ Pickled Cucumber (Taiwanese)

This is more of a side dish.  Freshly cut cucumber, cilantro, olive oil, and siracha (the one with seeds), with some sugar.  Refrigerate and that is it.   Great with rice!

@ Brocolli and Mushroom

That is basically it,  Broccoli and Shitaki Mushroom plus soy sauce paste.

@ Taiwanese Meat Loaf

Yum!  Meat loaf with rice!  Simply ground pork, scallions, Chinese pickled cucumbers, black pepper and soy sauce

@ Sweet Meat Dish!

We don't really know what this meat dish is called in English but we all call it the yummy sweet meat dish.

My family grew up loving this Vietnamese soup noodle Bun Rieu. This is a tomato based soup with meat and crab paste.


Bún riêu is a Vietnamese  meat rice vermicelli soup.  This is served with tomato broth and topped with crab or shrimp paste.  Below is a step by step video for preparation:
